Step by step guide to your civil wedding ceremony with Auchen Castle (print this page):
- Choose a Wedding Date: please bear in mind Registrars can only perform your wedding ceremony Monday to Saturday.
- Once you have chosen a date contact us
by email (weddings@auchencastle.com)
or telephone [+44 (0)1683 300 407] to check availability
and to book the venue.
We will confirm availability and if your date is not available we will give alternative suggestions. - Once we have agreed a date
we will place your date on hold provisionally until
your deposit is made within 3 days.
Deposits can be paid immediately by credit or debit card. Alternatively forward a cheque to Auchen Castle Accounts Department (Auchen Castle Hotel, Beattock, Near Moffat, Dumfriesshire DG10 9SH, Scotland) within 7 days. - Once we have received payment with a signed copy
of our terms and conditions, we
will ask you to:
- book your Civil Ceremony. You have the option of getting married within the Castle or in the Gardens (weather permitting). - Auchen Castle will contact you and confirm that everything is booked and we will forward to you, for signature, the 'Application for Attendance of Registrar' at Auchen Castle.
- You will also be
required to fill in M10 'Marriage Notice Forms' -
you can get your M10 forms
by visiting www.gro-scotland.gov.uk.
Please note: The Registrar cannot accept Marriage Notice forms from foreign nationals (excluding British, Swiss and EEA citizens) that are not accompanied by the correct immigration documentation - more information for non-British Nationals who wish to get married in the UK (PDF download, 14kb). - Both
the Application Form and Notice Form
must be sent to:
The Registrar at 15 Ednam Street, Annan, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, DG12 6EF.
The payment of £50.00 for the attendance of the Registrar must be sent along with your forms if your chosen date is more than three months away. These fees are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.
